As we step into the new year, Nautika Foundation remains committed to marine conservation and empowering coastal communities. January marks an important time for us to develop new strategies, report program progress, and take direct action in the field. Here are the key highlights of Nautika Foundation’s activities throughout January:
1. Strategic Program Discussion with Bappelitbang
We held a discussion with the Regional Planning, Research, and Development Agency (Bappelitbang) of Alor Regency to align village community empowerment programs with government policies at different levels and sectors. The main goal is to create a more productive and sustainable village ecosystem that directly benefits the local community.

2. Presenting the Annual Report to UPTD Alor Islands Marine Park
As a partner in managing the conservation area, Nautika Foundation submitted an annual report to the Alor Islands Marine Park Management Unit (UPTD). This report reflects our commitment to transparency and supporting the effective and sustainable management of the conservation area.

3. Marine Protected Area Patrol
Led by the Alor Island Naval Post, Nautika Foundation participated in marine patrols to monitor ocean space usage. This activity aims to protect marine ecosystems by identifying and preventing violations such as destructive fishing and illegal activities.

4. Developing Ideas for MSME Product Prototypes
We are exploring innovative ideas to transform wood waste in Alor Besar into valuable products for local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This initiative aims to support the creative rural economy and inspire more ideas that utilize local resources sustainably.

5. Coral Reef Rehabilitation Site Maintenance
Regular monitoring and maintenance are conducted at the coral reef rehabilitation site to ensure optimal coral fragment growth. Our team removes natural competitors like algae, assesses coral health, and measures growth rates as part of our ongoing efforts to restore marine ecosystems.

6. Beach Clean-Up Activities
As part of our environmental commitment, we conduct monthly beach clean-ups along the Molugara coastline. In addition to collecting waste to prevent it from returning to the sea, we also document the types of waste found. This month, we collected a total of 43.8 kg of waste. These efforts not only help maintain coastal cleanliness but also raise environmental awareness within the local community.

Welcoming the New Year with Conservation Spirit
As the new year begins, Nautika Foundation continues its mission to protect marine ecosystems and uplift coastal communities. January is a time for new beginnings—let’s work together to create a lasting impact for nature and future generations!
